On Monday, October 3rd, the German National Holiday, "Tag der Deutschen Einheit", ISB welcomed John Dyke (Dyko), an Australian-born musician who has been living in Berlin, Germany for many years.
All 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students were invited to Dyko's concert, which took place in the Church Hall. The hour-long event was sponsored by the Goethe-Institute Boston.
Dyko's music is devoted to electric-pop and new wave and is greatly inspired, among others, by David Bowie and Nina Hagen. One of Dyko's popular songs is called 'Helden' (Heroes) and is based on David Bowie's song with the same title.
Dyko sang in both English and German and repeatedly asked participating students to join in and to sing along.
Students seemed to have a lot of fun during Dyko's performance.
