The Middle School Girls' Basketball A Team played their best game of the season on Tuesday, February 26th, versus Mother Caroline Academy, but lost 13-21. This was a tough match-up and the girls really held their own against a strong opponent.
Players continued to do a stellar job rebounding and improved tremendously on defense. They positioned themselves well to stay low and committed to staying with their marks on man-to-man defense. It was exciting to see the team working together on "help D" as they were able to switch or slide through on screens. One of the highlights was that there were no forced turnovers - a huge step forward in regards to maintaining possession of the ball and setting a more confident tone on offense.
Everyone moved to open spots and we were able to swing the ball to find the open player for lots of great scoring opportunities. The player of the game was Alice Kaba with 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals! Alicia Robasson also had 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals and 2 assists, and Maelie Aya Pakora had 2 points, 2 steals and 1 rebound.
