On Thursday, February 14th, the Middle School Girls' Basketball A Team had an exciting win over Belmont Day School (28-16).
The game was close throughout the first half, as we were trailing at times and had only a 2 point lead at half-time (14 - 12). ISB players then pulled it together to push ahead during the second half with strong leadership from Alice Kaba, who grabbed 10 rebounds to control possession of the ball and scored 6 points late in the game to help secure the win. 6th graders, Sabina Kaba and Noemie Thierry played "up" on the A Team for this game, and really came to play! Sabina attacked the hoop confidently from the start of the game and scored 10 points overall, while also showing her athleticism on defensive with 8 steals. Noemie was an impenetrable wall on defense, staying low and working hard, while also attacking the gaps on offense and creating great scoring opportunities for her teammates. 8th graders, Maelie Aya Pakora and Alicia Robasson had 4 points apiece, while Ines Maammer El Bourachdi and Valentine Detheux both scored 2 points each.
