The Middle School Girls' Basketball B-team traveled to Beaver Country Day school together with the A-team for a double header on Tuesday, January 29th. The game was an excellent opportunity to challenge our one-on-one defense, as the opposite team was skilled at screening and rolling. They were also good at counter attacks on turnovers, either after quick rebounding or after intercepting one of our passes. Our players did a pretty good job at chasing them down the court and at helping each other when needed. However, we missed many defensive rebounds, especially in the second half. In offense, we produced more opportunities and shot more often than in previous games (18 shots in the first half, and 13 in the second), though we need more work on helping teammates elude their defenders through screening.
This game, the scoring was more split than ever this season, with 6 points from Sabina, and 2 each from Eva, Emma, Melanie, and Elise, for a final score of 14 to 29. Our next games before February break are all home games at 4:00pm: A-team this Thursday, January 31st against The Learning Center and on Thursday, February 14th against Belmont Day, and B-team on Wednesday, February 13th against Nashoba Brooks.
