The Middle School Girls' Basketball "B" Team had their first game ever on Thursday, December 13th. They visited the Cambridge Friends School with a narrow loss of 20 - 15. All fifteen players shared playing time equally, which was a great opportunity for each of them to better understand the rules of the game and to try out the different skills they had been practicing. They defended fiercely in 1 on 1 defense, denying many passes. They worked hard on offense as well, managing to shoot 32 times, for a total score of 15 points. Sabina Kaba, with 8 points, 3 steals, and 2 offensive rebounds, stood out both in offense and defense. She used her speed and hand skills well to add rhythm and excitement to the game. Noemie Thierry was extremely focused and unforgiving in defense. The two teams were fairly evenly matched, so we're looking forward to our return game at home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019!

The next day, Friday, December 14th, the "B" team played their second game visiting the Fayerweather School. Their fierce spirit was again extremely palpable in defense, and Fayerweather players were at a loss trying to pass the ball to each other and organize their offense. By the end of the first half, our ISB thirteen girls were leading the game 7-8. In the second half, our players continued playing hard on defense and were more organized and successful on offense. They gained confidence and tried some set plays successfully. Our players also played several fast balls, thanks to the speed of players like Eva Sigot, Alice Kaba, and Meyline Szczepanski. Other highlights include rebounds by Melanie Selva and Karina Kirpalani. Sabina Kaba, with 12 points, was the highest scorer.
